E-Waste Recycling

The e-waste center in Colby is open on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Anyone in the eight county region (Cheyenne, Rawlins, Decatur, Thomas, Sheridan, Logan, Gove, and Scott) may bring their items to Colby on Wednesday if they can’t attend a collection closer to where they reside.

E-waste drop-off is currently free to households, educational institutions, and government entities. Businesses and Organizations are charged a fee. The current fees are $0.30/lb for TV’s and computer monitors and $0.25/lb for everything else. The State grant we are under ends on September 30, 2010. On October 1, 2010 we will have to charge the collection fees to everyone. At this time we do not know for sure what these fees will be, but they could be $0.65/lb or more. We are researching ways to cut this cost. Our goal is to be able to keep the fees at the current rate.
